And, So It Begins

This afternoon starts the Christmas party rounds.  Food is made, gifts have been purchased, and I shall enjoy the company.

Snack tables start this week, where I teach.  What is a snack table, you ask?  Well, we teachers take turns bringing all kinds of yummy holiday food, snacks, and nibbles for everyone to enjoy.  Dangerous times ahead, if one is watching what they eat.

It's all in good fun and life will get back to normal, soon enough.

Sharing a scene with The Barn Collective today.
Pay Tom a visit, won't you?

  1. Beautiful scene. Oh I can do without a month of eating! I ate too much at Thanksgiving. But, Christmas is such a wonderful time for so many other reasons!

  2. Our town had the evening celebration where the streets were closed and shops open the other night and this afternoon is the Christmas parade. That kind of starts things for us.

  5. ...ah tis the season to over eat! It can be dangerous when celebrations revolve around food. Enjoy the season and please stop back again.

  7. Love the barn shot! And I do recall some goodies showing up in the teacher's lounge during the holidays. I never ate anything, of course. :)

    1. Rose, we do have some teachers who bring special candies, fudge, and pumpkin rolls. We have one lady famous, (seriously), for her sugar cookies. True perfection!

  11. Do you not just get the feeling that Christmas starts a little earlier each year?

    1. David, I think it does. Christmas gatherings, there are so many, have to be started asap. It does get to be a bit much, at times.

  13. I've pretty much decided that December will be a lost cause - food-wise. I love it all, and would very much enjoy the snack table! January will be here soon enough - and then we can all just get back to it (or not)

  14. Love the Barn View . . . wondering what mountain range in the background . . .

We enjoyed our first gathering on the second . . .
Lots of red, green, yummy munchies, laughter, fun . . .
I will keep saying, enjoy and pace my self . . .

  17. Beautiful view; love seeing the mountains (we're in Florida now... mountains are definitely not something I see regularly while we're here!) I've been retired for decades now, but way back when I was still working we called the days before Christmas break 'Fat Weeks' -- snack table sounds ever so much nicer. .. although it would probably end up the same result for me!
